I have six grown human children and four and a half :) grandchildren. It's challenging to put into words the love I have for my birds. "Lara" is our two-year-old Goffin's Cockatoo and "Jacquelyn" (who will correct me and say Jack 0 Lynn) is our two-year-old Solomon Eclectus female. I love, care for and could not imagine my life without these amazing creatures. My birds are empathic, they react to how I'm feeling and most magically give back whatever is needed. A bird that loves you comes up with some rare and wonderful kind of distraction at the most appropriate time. They simply "know." My house is alive with the sounds of their play, banter and imitations of the life that goes on around them. Chloe is my baby girl.... we need each other for the love that we each give and enjoy receiving. Chloe does everything with me, and can't bear to be apart... He is a new addition to my home that has brightened every day since his arrival. The local animal shelter found him, wandering the streets alone, barely alive. In his last home, he was aggressive, territorial and nippy (except he won't harm a child) because he couldn't get enough attention and lived life from his cage. Now Jack is a new bird--cuddly, sweet, talkative, gentle and very loving. He has been with me for more than a month (but I met him originally when he was at the animal shelter and have seen his progress as he lived at his previous home) and his changes are amazing and seem to be permanent. This is my beautiful dragon Zeta. An 11-month-old QP. Zeta is a special bird to me. I am 18 years old and I have wanted a Quaker for the past 6 years. Everyday I get up, I am so happy to do things with him. He is truly my baby. He tells me that he loves me in the morning and when I leave the house are the room he calls out mommy. I think God everyday because I got a bird that I can truly relate too. I feel that Zeta is a special bird because he was not truly taking care of when I first purchased him. He was weaned in 1 month and never handled so he is not fund of humans. Only me. He did not have a good diet but, now with me. He eats very well. In the picture is Zeta and I. Zeta comes to wake me up every morning and here is the picture. He will say. Wake up! Come play with Zeta! What more can you ask for in an animal that is such a sweet heart.
